The Internet dates back to 1968 when DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) contracted with BBN (Bolt, Beranek & adenine; Newman) and in concert they created ARPAnet. In 1970 there were nodes in UCLA, Stanford UC Santa Barbara, U of Utah, and BBN that were used to body forth the ARPnet and from there the new Internet grew astoundingly. (Slater 2002). The net has been steadily development from 111 hosts in 1977, 5,000 in 1986, 1,000,000 in 1992, and over 200 one million million host in 2002. It is estimated that by the year 2010 that at least 80% of the planet will be on the net profit. The early on use of the internet was used mainly by universities and look institutions so that they could sh are documents through FTP, Gopher, and the Usenet.
South Korea has been the leader of wideband internet deployment since 1999. In 2003, South Koreas broadband cleverness was about 21% higher than Hong Kong at 15%. (Lee & Chan-Olmsted). South Korea is the most wired country in toll of broadband.
In September 2000, Koreans spent more time surfboarding than any other nation. On an average Koreans used 15 hours per month compared to 11 hours by Americans (Lee, OKeefe, & Yun 2002). about of this time is spent streaming audio and video.
The growth of the internet in South Korea is one of the highest in the world. With the growth of internet use, it is becoming clear that there is a link amid the internet and the ever growing generation gap. Technical abilities are being seen in the younger generation at a higher capacity. Through internet technology and application Korea has place the ground work for even more development and well-disposed integration into technology systems.
