Ashoke?s Experience

The novel the namesake by jhumpa lahiri introduces a one-year-old man by the name

of Ashoke. From Calcutta, Ashoke is a smart genuine Bengali man who bewilderd a near death affair that shaped his in all liveliness.Traveling on a train to discover his grandfather that recently went blind accompanied by other man named Ghosh.When suddenly the train derailed from its tracks causing an astonishing outcome of deaths. The seventh cart which held Ashoke, also derailed but luckily he did not die, but suffered severe injuries. This near death experience shaped him for the rest of his heart in many ways. From go forth his hometown of Calcutta only to land up in Massachusetts. To the name of his child, to all in all revamping his way of thinking on life.

When the train derailed Ashoke suffered astonishing injuries. He had broken his

pelvis, his right femur, and three of his ribs on his right side. create him to lay ?at on his back for a whole year of his life. He was sayed to stay as mute as possible so that the bones could heal. There was a huge chance that his right leg would be inactivate causing him to have a slight limp permanently.

would change his life after he was able to walk. He decided not only to walk, but walk and get as farther away as he possibly could. This shaped him into a man, not only to get away but to rifle a new life in a sense. So that is exactly what he did, getting a scholarship to take aim abroad in the Massachusetts. This near death experience do him think about his life as a whole, do him realize that he cannot live his life without exploring the unknown. Moving to the states changed his life dramatically, from the change of his culture to day to day living. He had to fit and change the way of living because of the drastic differences between the two.
