As Othello hapd questioning Desdemona’s semblance with Cassio, Iago had to continue covering his tracks with lies upon lies. As discussed in class, Iago’s portion reminds me much of the petty drama involved in a typical woman’s life. Throughout high school, women modernize and compete amongst each other and therefore spread rumors that continue to expand. As each lie becomes bigger, it becomes harder to cover. Iago’s lies eventually stretch forth to the point of telling Othello that Roderigo has murdered Cassio.
In this exact thought (act five – scene two), Othello states that he must stop Desdemonafrom committing fornication upon any other men. When Othello later tells Desdemona of Cassio’s death, she immediately bursts into part and her abrupt response drives Othello’s distress tofury. He whence suffocates his beautiful innocent wife. Unfortunately for Othello, Cassio has not been killed, but Iago has murderedRoderigo instead. This, therefore, leaves Othello to stew in his guilt. If he had calmed himself during the allegations of his wife’s affair and wise(p) the truth, such terrible deaths would never have occurred.
In the end, I am mislead and confused as to what Iago originally think for an outcome. Many people are dead, Cassio was promoted to General, and Iago was provedguilty. Is that what he planned to elapse? As I see it, Desdemona, Emilia and Cassio are the barely innocent characters. Emilia may have taken the handkerchief which led to everyone’s ultimate demise, but she was never to chouse that.
Unfortunately, this great love story is tragic and the characters we swoon upon occupy heartbreaking flaws. Othello’s love for Desdemona leads to both of their deaths and Roderigo’s picture assists Iago in accomplishing his great scheme.
