By looking in expatiate at three of the pre 20th century arcanum stories that we harbour studied, show how the author(S) has/have created atmosphere, vivid settings and memorable characters the (ir) choice of voice communication and images.
We have been looking at four short mystery stories all written and set in the successian times. The firstly three that we looked at were secret agent Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle, and the go of the four was The Monkeys Paw written by W.W. Jacobs. The three Sherlock Holmes stories were written in 1892 and The Monkeys Paw was published in 1903. The three short mystery stories that I am passing game to be looking at are The Adventure of the unionises Thumb, The Speckled Band, and The Beryl Coronet. either were written by Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle, and all based on Sherlock Holmes adventures on discovering and finding out all sorts of interesting clues, and firmness mysteries that have been set by many different plenty in need of his help. People such as overlord Hatherley in The Adventure of the Engineers Thumb, Helen lapidator in The Speckled Band, and Alexander Holder in The Beryl Coronet.
In all of these stories Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle creates very different feelings such as atmosphere, (through darkness or absence seizure of light,) tension, when the reader is unsure of what is going to happen, strange places and warnings given. It is very important to create atmosphere in any mystery story, because a darkness or absence of light almost creates a sense of fear non just for the characters but alike for the reader. It helps build up tension, and also helps the reader to create images in their mind.
