I contumacious to bring attention to this ad for my current event, because Ive hear comments like, This is over exaggerated, these situations argon never that obvious and outspoken. Yes, advertisement is more censored now days, especi tout ensembley against discrimination. But on that point are many times where it is, Okayed by the media. Most messages are subliminal and hidden, I myself was shocked when I watched the commercial, and was offended immediately.
The For Men altogether slogan for this new 10-calorie quasi diet drink is backfiring, non just women, but both sexes. Men do not enjoy being self-conscious about their purchases, unlike Women who are used to this form of advertisement; but thats a different story. Ted Marzilli, senior vice president and managing director of BrandIndex states, The commove appears to have driven womens perception of Dr Pepper down, which whitethorn have an adverse effect on the overall sends sales of a product like forage Dr Pepper. This advertisement as only brought Dr. Peppers scores down, with both genders. For men, its score went from a 21.5 to a 16.4 after the release of the campaign. Women, in the same time frame started with a 32.9 and are now scored at a 18.4, almost half its score.
Their idea was to drag men with the new can design of a gentlemen antiquated color and mach industrial rivets. Apparently, they overlooked a couple of details.
The fictional character that shocked me was how, In your face the message was. In the commercial, theres a physically fit man running game through a jungle holding a laser gun. The male character, while doing all these athletic jumps, starts out with, Hey Ladies enjoying the consider? Of course not. Why because its imitating an action movie? stomp number one. He then states, Because this is OUR movie, and Dr.Pepper is OUR soda.
